Here is our Q&A with Simple Cooking Channel, a proud member of the Boom Network.
What inspired you to start a YouTube channel?
I was inspired to start a YouTube channel some years ago after I noticed there were only a few cooking channels in Australia. I felt with my knowledge & experience cooking at home for over 20 years I could show people how easy it can be to make some really cool things. I wanted to take the stigma away that cooking was too hard.
What do you do when you aren’t creating videos?
Do you have a hobby or pastime that occupies you? I spend time with my family & try to watch my favourite sports teams.
Are there any milestones that you are aiming for?
I am hoping to achieve the 1 million subscriber mark by the middle of 2015. That’s a very big goal in such a short time but I love a challenge.
Who are your top 5 favourite International YouTubers?
2. Majic Of Rahat
3. Prank vs Prank
4. Stuart Edge
Have you ever met some of your fans in real life? What was the experience like?
Yes I have. A couple of young girls came up to me a few months ago at a shopping centre & asked for my autograph. It was very sweet.
Do you have a favourite recipe? If so can we find it on your channel?
I have many but my all time favourite would have to be would have to be the M&M Pinata cake.
What has been your most highly requested recipe to date?
That is easy. I have had so many people ask me to make an ice cream cake. I am planning on making that in the near future.
How do you handle people who post negative comments on your videos? Any tips?
Most of the time I just leave a comment saying “:D” I don’t bother getting angry or upset as it makes no difference to me what people say. I would just say keep doing what you are doing if you enjoy it & let the haters come & go.
Since you started your channel your life has obviously changed, was it difficult to get the courage to start a channel?
Not at all. I am confident & never put limitations on myself. I love a challenge & saw YouTube as a great way to test myself.
Do you have any tips for people who aspire to follow in your footsteps?
Be yourself & do what you love.
